AMAZON WANTS A KEY TO YOUR HOUSE

Amazon is trading privacy for convenience with there new product Amazon Key.  This is a new device Amazon has created for Amazon Prime customers.  It allows Amazon couriers to deliver packages right inside your home, sometimes within one or two hours after ordering but usually within same day.  It works with the new Amazon Cloud Cam and a new compatible smart lock that allows couriers to enter your home to deliver your packages.  The smart lock works with an app that the couriers have on their device. The customer gets a notification that the courier is on their way.  Once the courier is there they are told to knock and/or ring the door bell to make sure no one is home before they enter the home, also it is for the safety of the courier if you have animals.  Once they go through the protocols they scan your package, which sends a message to Amazon cloud, and the customer gets a prompt on their phone so they can watch live feed of the delivery. Once everything checks out it sends a message back to the camera which then starts recording. The courier then gets a prompt on their app which allows them to swipe the screen unlocking your door and place your package inside your door, then swipe again when its delivered re-locking your home.

I think that Amazon's Value proposition is all about convenience, but how much are we willing to give up for convenience?  Amazon key gives Amazon the ability to  build their business into the"service"side of things. Creating services like Amazon cleaning services, repair services, etc.  All with the ease of Amazon Key.
With all the different technology that is out there like Amazon Alexa, which listens to everything that is said in your home and to now allowing people to enter your home when you are not there, it gives Amazon permission to enter into every aspect of your life. So your
once safe place in this world may not be so safe anymore
Some of the issues I see with this is it is technology, and technology gets hacked, so what is to say this technology can not get hacked and someone other then amazon gets into your house.
Some of the comments that people have made about this product are:

I already don't like Alexa recording my conversations, and now I gotta worry about Amazon allowing people into my house?

Why don't they do it like the majority of the world by knocking at your door, if there is no answer they post a slip saying its at the post office, so much safer.

If I was the Marketing manager, I would think about peoples privacy and maybe make Amazon Key where it is some sort of safety box that people can purchase what ever size they might need and it have the amazon key on that instead on the persons front door. Allowing packages to be safely delivered but not enter the persons home.
